Weekend update

Hey Greggles,

It was a busy weekend. Allan (your 2nd cousin) from Perth came over and visited us for a couple of days on his way to visit his Dad up in Queensland. We had lunch with all the family all at Gran and Grandads - U.Grum & A.Lynda & Chelsea, Great Gran A, Dad, Mitchell, mum and you, Gran & Grandad and Al. It was yummy... y0u sat up in the highchair and had a great lunch and a great time.
When Aunty Lynda and Uncle Grum and Chelsea decided to go home, you went outside with Grandad.

This week Gran picked up and old kids pram which you thought was FANTASTIC. Grandad thought it would be funny to see you push Kibble around in it. She lasted for a few minutes before she jumped out and started to bark at you. You giggled, left the pram and went chasing her.
Shortly after that the dogs next door started to bark and Kibble went to the fence to check it out, so did you! Kibble started to play with a soccer ball.... so you picked up the basket ball! You had such a good time outside. :o)
Al came over for dinner on Saturday night and you enjoyed pretending to be shy as he walked in.... you're funny!

On Sunday we had a lovely day at home with your dad - he's back at work today :o( Sunday night we went for a drive to Nanna and Cookies and we ended up staying there for Chinese for dinner. YUMMY! You love fried rice.... We sat you up to the table in Nannas highchair and you even had a go of using a spoon with your food,.... it wasn't really successful but you had a go and thought you were such a big boy! It was funny watching you try to eat the prawn chips!! hahaha.

Well today is the first day home with just me and Mitchell since he was born. You're being good so far (you've only been up an hour!! hehee) and let me sleep-in (THANKS!!) and you were such a happy boy in your cot for such a long time too. We haven't many plans for today, although Chelsea is coming over for an hour or two after lunch. We do plan to go to Playgroup tomorrow. Also there is a BBQ at Naomi's tomorrow night that we'll see if we get to. The rest of the week looks like time at home. We may end up doing something with A.Lynda and Chelsea but it all depends on how I am and if I feel like driving.

Love ya lots!!

The Week in Review

Hey Sweety,
Its been a fairly laid back easy going sort of week. We haven't had much on, or been up to much but we've had dad home with us - so it has been special :o)

You've started to realise that Mum can't pick you up (for the moment) and go to dad to be picked up.... although you do bail me up in the hallway and grab my legs so that I can't move!!
Throughout the week dad has taken you with him whenever he goes out to the shops quickly for something, you seem to enjoy just getting out of the house!

Tuesday was a busy day as we went to Playgroup in the morning then went straight to Aunty Megs and Makaylas for lunch. We were treated to a scrumptous lunch and some good company. It was funny watching you try to play with Makayla while she was in the highchair! You figured out how to turn their t.v. on and off and back on again. You thought that it was quite funny watching the wiggles and switching it off!!

Wednesday was ANZAC day, and we didn't manage to go anywhere.
Yesterday we went for a drive to get out of the house. When we got home you played quite happily with your magna-sketch. You've started using pencils and grab them everytime you're up at my computer! Cheeky. Later, Uncle Grum, Aunty Lynda and Chelsea all dropped by to us. You and Chelsea played fairly nicely together until you pushed her off your bike!! Meanie.... you also tried to push her off the lounge and tried to sit on her umpteen times!! Lucky U.Grum was on the ball.

It's been raining over night and it is overcast today but we haven't much planned. Your curls have come out in full today!! The community midwife is coming again to weigh Mitchell to see how he's going. Besides that we haven't much planned. I'd like to go downtown for a little while this morning - enter you in the local baby competition ;o) Your dad doesn't seem so keen about it but :oP~ to him!! hehehe

I'm hoping to have a relaxing weekend, including seeing how I go at driving again (after the op) seeing as Daddy goes back to work next week. You've been a good boy around Mitchell and even help me change his nappy (well... you pass me the wipes, and then close the lid.... keeps you out of mischief!)

Anyhow, must scoot, get ready to go out...
Lub ya!

Down on the farm

Hey there Greggie,
Ive been meaning to update but I've been a little busy!! Its been an interesting week, and you've been trying to adjust to all the new things happening at home. We've had some visitors - Aunty Lynda and Chelsea, Makayla and Aunty Megan, Naomi, Nanna, Grandma and Grandad.

On Friday 13th April, you went to Linda's (from Dads work) farm for the day. Linda was working from home and was delighted to look after you for the day. It gave your dad and I a chance to get the paper work and other stuff for Mitchell done.

As you can tell from the photos, you had a wonderful day!! Shaun and Linda took you to see all the animals....

You saw the cockatoos.... careful they don't bite you!!!

You got to 'feed' the chickens.... well apparently you didn't like throwing the food at them... I don't understand! You like throwing food off your highchair at home!! hehehe

Linda took you over to pat the horse. You got all the way over to the horse paddock and one of the kittens followed you. Instead of being interested in the horse, you wanted to play with the kitten!! Eventually the kitten headed back to the house and you became interested in the horse. You even got to pat him!!
I heard that you loved playing with the kittens on the front porch too.
As you got back to the house for lunch you saw the bell and Shaun took you over to ring it. I'm not sure who had more fun, you or Shaun!! You certainly kept him busy.
After lunch you played inside for a while,,... 'helped' Shaun play the PS2. Linda also gave you a bath so you smelt lovely when we came to pick you up before dinner time. I wish I could have been there to see you with all the animals. I missed you so much while I was in hospital with Mitchell. All day I kept asking your dad if we could go and pick you up yet! He said you'd be fine... I don't think he understood that I wanted to see you!!

Monday afternoon we went on our first 'family' outing with Mitchell. We went to the mall to get some supplies. While we were there we saw a small motorbike.... which you promptly pointed out to me and really wanted to sit on.... It meant that you got dressed in some jeans and a little denim jacket and sat on the bike while some ladies took photos of you. You've been entered into a competition... there were a few problems with this situation.... - you liked to turn the handlebars/front wheel... so you would look at what you were doing and not the camera, the wheel was facing the wrong way in the photos, and you didn't want to get off!! We eventually managed to distract you with a ball.... the photographers couldn't believe how much personality you have... you kept trying to hug one of the ladies! You're gorgeous. I can't wait to see what the photos turn out like :o)

We haven't been up to much else lately. You've been going on 'little trips' with Dad just to get out of the house... Like when Dad went and got the photo news, or some more bread or things like that. You're enjoying your time with Dad heaps. You're also very proud of Mitchell already. When we were at the mall yesterday we were showing Mitchell to a friend of mine and you knew what we were talking about and patted Mitchell on the leg, as if to say "I'm his big brother you know". It will be good when Mitchell is a little older and you can play together!
here's a photo of you, me and Mitchell at Mitchells feed time.

Anyhow, I must scoot, I have things to do before you get back out of bed.
Lots of hugs to my big boy!!

Holding your little brother

Mitchell is home and you are adjusting well. You decided that you wanted a hold of your little brother.... You held him for about 5 mins and were really gentle! You are being such a good big brother!! Proud of you :o) *hugs*

New Arrivals

This was written on Easter Monday up at the hospital.... but I had no internet or computer so here it is.... posted late but here it is :o)

Dear Gregory,
It's been an interesting few days to say the least. On Thursday Aunty Megs came and picked you up and took you with her for the day. She even took you to lunch with Nanna, Cookie and Makayla.
Meanwhile, your dad and I were waiting up at the hospital for your brother to join the world. After waiting for hours, he joined us at 8:13 and you offically became a big brother. Welcome to Mitchell Edward Cook.
Grandma picked you up from Aunty Megs and organised your dinner then daddy came and got you later on that night. Friday morning your dad brought you up to see me and Mitchell up at the hospital. When you saw Mitchell you pointed to all the other babies in the nursery too. You've spent the last few days with dad, coming up to visit us at the hospital - you've loved wandering the hallways at the hospital and have a special place in the hearts of some of the other mums in the nursery. Today you saw the mobiles hanging up in the nursery and got upset when you had to go home.
Dad has kept you busy including taking you to see the Toy-Mod Car show, shopping, to Gran and Grandads, Nanna and Cookies, Aunty Megs & Uncle Michael and Makaylas.
I miss you lots, my little MONKEY!!! (You've been dancing to the Wiggles lots.... you are so cute!)
I'll be home soon.

New arrivals

Hey sweety,
Its been a strange sort of a week with preparations for bubs arrival! I was organising the camera earlier when you started hunting me down.... so here you are... chasing your mum around!!!! Mr Giggle-gurt!!
We got the phone call this evening to let us know that bub will be arriving into the big wide world tomorrow. Daddy and I sat down with you and let you know what was happening.... I'm not sure that you understood everything but when we finished the conversation you patted my tummy gently and smiled up at Dad and then at me. It was a delight!

Tomorrow at lunchtime you'll go to Aunty Megs and spend some time with her and Makayla while Daddy and I meet the new bub!! It's all quite exciting. Daddy will pick you up sometime after that and you'll spend the weekend with him :o) (Please look after your daddy for me!) Being Easter weekend Daddy will be home from Friday all the way through til and including Monday! Which is good news. Daddy will bring you up to see me as much as he can.
Aunty Val, Uncle Jon and Aunty Pam, and Beaux will all be home for Easter so I'm sure you'll be busy with them for some of the time. Aunty Lynda and Uncle Grum and Chelsea are looking forward to spending some extra time with you too, especially while Daddy comes visiting me up at hospital. Make sure you come and visit too eh?

Well... I best head to bed.... a big day tomorrow.... meeting your sibling for the first time!!......... you're already asleep...... which is where I need to be.
Love you lots and lots.!! I'm going to miss you heaps while I'm not at home.

You're a MONKEY!

Hey Sweety,
It's been a wonderful few weeks watching you grow up so much. We've been busy too.

You had your first play-date at another persons place the other day. I dropped you off at Sharon's place around 11ish and picked you back after lunch around 3:00. Sharon has 3 children, the eldest Matthia, has just turned 3, her son Daniel turns 2 in May and the youngest, Michaela has just 6 months old. Sharon said that you and Daniel had a great time and shared well. You seemed to follow him around and copy him and learned to play with their toys. You didn't even come looking for me once!!! Sharon put the wiggles on for a little while and you showed them all how to 'do the monkey'! Meanwhile I was able to go to the doctors for bub2 with your dad for a check-up. I'm glad you had some fun with them. Sharon has offered to help look after you a little while when I go to hospital to have bub.

Last weekend you were not yourself. You came down feeling sick - you've got 4 teeth giving you a nightmare and you also ended up with a horrible bug/virus which turned you off your food, and you were quite sick. It lasted for a few days and then your dad and I both ended up with it too!! What a testing time for us all. Gran came and looked after you one evening while your dad and I got some well needed rest.

You've enjoyed watching the Wiggles lately and you start dancing around the room. The other day I was pointing to the monkey on your jumpsuit and said monkey and you started to move your arms and sing the monkey song!! It was so funny, you make me smile so much!!

You went to EI earlier this week where they are quite impressed with your progress - you're walking well and your co-ordination is good too. They just would like to hear your little voice a little more!! I'm sure we will in good time.

Today, Gran came over and helped me set up bubs room. While she was here I started talking about a car... so you went away and got your car and brought it over to show us! Vrooom vrooooom you said!! After setting up your bed with your doona and everything tonight, you climbed up onto it with you car and lay down with your head on the pillow. I could have tucked you in!! I'm afraid it won't be for a little while yet - you still seem to find every edge of the cot throughout the night and you'd just fall off the bed within minutes of me leaving the room!!!

Anyhow I know I haven't updated much lately - we're all so busy and I've been quite tired. So I'm sorry about that.....
Thank you for being such a good boy though! You'll notice I'm sitting on the lounge and you'll
come over and just sit next to me..... aww and if I'm sitting on the floor you'll come and wrap your arms around my neck and give me a smoochy hug! It's so lovely.

Hope this week brings lots of good stuff (choccie.... as it is Easter this weekend) and you have lots of fun.
Love you my boy
*hugs hugs hugs*
Mummy.
