Growing Up!!

Dear Greggles,
Hey my boy, its been a pretty good day. It was good to spend some time with you today - except you manage to turn my computer off a few times! GRRR!
Today Dad went to Coona for the day so we had lunch just the two of us. After lunch we went out to see Gran and Grandad and to see Megan and Makayla - although we didn't get to stay as Megs was heading to work.
We also dropped by and saw Great Gran A. It was lovely to see her and you liked changing all the channels on the TV over and over!! You also saw her swivel desk chair.... you looked at Gran to check that it was ok to play with it before you did. You thought it was great fun when you started to play with it.

On the weekend you spent some time with Daddy on Saturday morning as I had a bit more rest and saw a doctor - it turns out I have a middle ear infection - no wonder I had an earache!! So I'm now getting better. Saturday night we had dinner with Aunty Lynda and Chelsea (Uncle Grum was away in Canberra) before you stayed for a few hours while your father and I went to a farewell for some friends of ours who are heading to Wagga for Uni and a new job.
We came back to pick you up and Lynda said that you had been standing up in the middle of the floor all by yourself and balancing for about 5-10 secs before sitting back down again.

Today while we were at the shop Gran had you and reached out to me. I let you take my hand before and encouraged you to walk to me... 1/2 way over to me I let you go.... and you took 3 or 4 steps on your own!! YAYAYAY!!!!!! It won't be too long before you are running about.
(Heres a photo from when we went out to dinner with Paul Tres early in January.)

Anyhow - must go keep a closer eye on you before you head to bed. Love ya

Dear Greggie,
Today wasn't really busy although you did get to spend some time with Aunty Pammie as I had to get some tests done for your baby brother/sister. Here are some snapshots of you and Aunty Pammie - looks like you guys had some fun anyhow!!!

Trying to choke your Aunty......

Look at me, look at me.........

Lovely necklace Aunty Pammie!

Anyone for some SULTANAS?!!!!!!!

When I came to get you, we decided to go to Village Hotbake for afternoon tea. You really enjoyed your choccie rabbit bikkie - got it everywhere!! hehe.
We haven't been up to much more today, we might catch up with Aunty Lynda and Chelsea tomorrow - we'll see what happens. It would be lovely to go for a swim but we've finally been having some wonderful rain (although it is making things really muggy!).
Hope that you have a good sleep tonight. I know all 3 of us didn't sleep too well last night.
love ya lots baby boy!

Visiting the Underground

Well Gregory,
Another week or more has gone by and lots *again* has happened.
You've FINALLY learned how to use a sippy cup *yay*!!
Yesterday you took about 4 steps - you were holding onto Dads tie as he was leaning over and you walked towards me! The confidence to let go is still not there but you are having a go every now and then. You will walk holding onto only one hand but not all the time.

Your latest thing is to cuddle up with your teddy bear(s). In the bottom picture you had woken and talked and by the time I got to your room you were asleep again!! Ah well!! hug those teddies! Speaking of teddies, we bought Bubba his/her own teddy yesterday. You thought he was quite cute and talked to the bear all the way across the bridge!!

We've finally opened up your own bank account and plan to put money in there every fortnight for you :o) Pretty lucky boy!! We went to the bank today to complete all the paperwork. Yay for Greggie!

On the weekend Dad caught up with an old school friend - Scott P. come and visit. He brought his girlfriend Sharna with him and we spent lots of time with them. They have only been back in Australia for 3 months after going on a few year trek/holiday overseas. They came over on Saturday afternoon and we ended up going out to the Milestone with them for dinner. You were quite well behaved :o) You even waved at Aunty Megs when you saw her there. After dinner you spent some time with Grandma and Grandad - Aunty Pam, Beaux and Great Gran were also there. Your Dad and I went out to the RSL with Sharna and Scott for a while.

Scott and Sharna had decided to go to the Wellington Caves on Sunday and we ended up going with them (or really they came with us coz we took our car). Aunty Megs and Makayla were going to come too but unfortunately Megs had to be back in time for work and we weren't sure if we would be or not.

We got out to the caves and had a small bite to eat before heading into the Phosphate mine. The guide said that you didn't have to wear a helmet as long as you were in the pram with the cover over you. Considering how tired you were and the new environment that you were in, you coped quite well.... the guide ended up letting us carry you even though you didn't have a helmet - we actually got to hear more of what she had to say then!!!
When we saw daylight at the end of the Mine Tour, Dad took you to the car where you both had a rest and listened to the cricket while Sharna, Scott and I went and had a look at the Japanese Gardens across the road. We hoped that you'd have a sleep but the rest was all you really needed. The Cathedral Cave Tour started and we (our group) were the only ones on the tour so it was quite good. Dad had to carry you as most of the tour was based on steps. You loved looking at the amazing formations. When the guide turned the lights off she gave you the torch to hold (turned on of course!) which you then turned off yourself! *silly goose!!* But thats ok because the lights came back on pretty quickly after that.
All the way back to Dubbo in the car you played with Sharna and her glasses... lucky because I fell asleep next to you!! lol

We had a lovely weekend all in all... Scott tried to take you home... but alas he didn't have a carseat for you ... and Dad went running after him saying "bring back that baby! You don't know where he's been!" lol!

(still have more to add but this has taken all day already so I'll finish it tomorrow.... *maybe*!! - when your fingers aren't trying to type too!!! lol)

Swimming and ICECREAM!!!

Dear Greggie,
Its been an eventful few week since my last bloggie to you. We've been back to Kidzoo (and you didn't get hurt this time!!).
Aunty Lyn, Sarah and her friend Jess were down from Sydney for a few days (Mark didnt come as he was at Jamboree and Uncle Steve was working). We were at Great Grans when they arrived. Jess thought you were gorgeous!! (well...its the truth!) Gran, Lyn, Sarah, Jess, you and your dad and I all had Chinese for dinner on Thursday night. After dinner Sarah was so bloated *after going back for 2nds, 3rds... 4ths.... lost count!! so decided to go for a walk. Sarah, Jess and Lyn took you with them while Dad, Gran and I stayed home. When they got back we had a game of Buzz and you were quite well behaved considering how tired you were! (Heres Sarah, Jess and you playing Buzz....)

We went with Lynda and Chelsea and a few other mums from Lyndas mums group. You had a great time playing in the ball pit. You crawled your way over to the 'jungle' area where you played among the hanging poles. I was worried you were going to be run over by the bigger kids but they watched out for you! A few even helped you out a little. I took you over to the mini rollercoaster where you giggled each time the car took off down the little track.! At lunchtime, Chelsea and you were sitting in highchairs next to each other and kept passing food. Whatever you had, Chelsea had to have some of!! After a while Daddy came and joined us for the rest lunch before he took you back on the roller coaster. You are such a show off!! When it reached the end you turned around and clapped your hands at Daddy!! It was so lovely to see you have such a good time.

This week you've also learnt how to 'share' an icecream/block with me/dad. Its been so good (but a pain as I can't have one in peace unless you are asleep or I stand out of your sight!) You'll just stand and stick out your tongue to lick, and you've even started taking little bites of the water iceblocks.

I decided it was time to spoil you *giggle*. We went shopping with Aunty Lynda and Chelsea on Friday afternoon..... well we really went to buy an icecream (it was sooooo hot it was a good reason/excuse!!) so I could share it with you! We ran into Great Gran and Poppa who shouted both Lynda and me one each. Chelsea and you both were lucky and had heaps of ours. I think you nearly ate a full scoop!! After that we headed back to Uncle Grum and Aunty Lyndas for a swim.....

It was great!!! It took me about 20 mins to slowly get you used to the water (you're just like your mum and despise jumping straight in!!). We sat on the edge, then on the step, then stood in the water. By then you were enjoying yourself and had accustomed yourself to the water temperature. After I took you on a lap of the pool you started reaching for Lynda - you must have a bit more confidence as you weren't clinging to me for dear life!! After a couple of minutes with Lynda, we swapped you with Chelsea and you got to have a go in her Zoggs pool seat. You didn't seem to mind it too much (as you can see from the photos) and after a while were kicking your feet and reaching for the water around you. It was such a relief to know that you are happy in the water. I was able to relax a little more and enjoyed it too!

We also went swimming again last night. We didn't take quite as long to get you in the water and you accustomed yourself fairly quickly. Daddy was there for the swim this time and by the time he was all wet and done a few crazy laps you joined him. We took your seat for you this time so both you and Chelsea were floating around the pool. At one stage Uncle Grum was happy swimming around with one of you on each arm!! Grum also got a ball which he threw into the water and you thought it was fantastic. I'm going to have to get some blow up balls to keep in the 'swimming' bag.

We went for a drive yesterday with Luke P. He sat in the seat next to you and you had a great time stealing his hat and sunglasses. As we waved him goodbye yesterday you got a little upset because you liked his car. I must remember to tell him that you'd like to have a sit in his seat! Just imagine my Greggie driving a 96 black Supra!!!

Anyhow... I'm off to have a rest while you're resting *after typing this long blog I hope you are still asleep!!* Lots of hugs - we'll probably go swimming again tonight or later in the week.
Lub u!

Merry Christmas, Happy NEW Year

Dear Greggie,
Sorry it has been a while since my last bloggie! We've been so busy over the last week or more!

Christmas Day was busy busy! When you woke up you got to open your Santa pressie :o) then we all got ready and headed out to Cookie & Nannas for pressie time with them, Uncle Andy, Aunty Megs, Uncle Mick and Makayla. It was great fun as you opened lots of lovely gifts and we watched as you and Makayla 'talked' to each other!! I think you're starting to recognise Makayla everytime you see her.

After we opened and gave all our pressies at Nanna and Cookies we headed to Grandma and Grandads to open lots more pressies and for the big Christmas lunch. Lots of people were there - Great Gran A, Great Gran and Poppa, Grandma and Grandad, U.Grum and A.Lynda and Chelsea, A.Val and U.Jon, A.Pammie and Beaux, Me and your Daddy, Great A.Lyn and Uncle Steve and Sarah and Mark, also Uncle Jons parents and Paul Tres. Lots of people!! I think it was all a bit too much for you as you were bit overwhelmed by it all.
We all sat around one long table with you and Chelsea in your highchairs at the head of the table :o) You and Chelsea were quite well behaved considering all the people!!
After lunch you showed Chelsea how to ride her new bike and danced a bit to Chelseas new DVD Boobaahs. You loved climbing all over the lounge and all over whoever was on the lounge!! Cheeky!
Later we came home and we all had a sleep (as traditional for Chrissy day) and had left overs for dinner before having an early night.

On Boxing Day we headed back to Cookie and Nannas for lunch. U. Andy, U.Mike and A.Megan and Makayla were there too!! There was soooooo much food - I think they still would have some left now if it was ok to eat still. After spreading sultanas everywhere, you played with the duplo and saw the doggies and wandered around the house. Aunty Megs was quite impressed how well you are walking :o), and holding only one hand too!! ooooo clever boy!
We had visitors on Boxing Day night .... after tea a friend I went to school with (Kelly) came by with her husband David. A.Val and U.Jon also came by. You were such a show off - all you wanted to do was cuddle mum!!!

Daddy headed back to work the next 3 days - although we went and visited him lots including taking him doughnuts!! We caught up with a friend that I went to school with - I couldn't believe how shy you pretendededed to be!! silly goose! hehehe. We also spent some time with A.Val and U.Jon before they went back to Sydney.

For New Years Eve this year we (You, me and Daddy with A.Lynda, U.Grum and Chelsea) went to Hogs Breath for dinner. Yummy hog-tail fries!! haahaa. It was quite a good meal before we crossed the road to the Milestone (where A.Megs works) because Cookie and Nanna were having dinner there with some friends from Canberra and their family. We dropped by to say hello - I think you made Nanna's night as you pointed to her with a huge grin on your face as if to say "I KNOW YOU!!!!"
After this we hired a movie and went back to Grum and Lyndas for a while. We all started getting sleepy after the first movie.... so we took you home and tucked you in for the last time in 2006. Dad and I watched the fireworks on T.V. before heading to the land of nod ourselves.

It was great to have Daddy home for New Years Day. We had a lovely day at home and even flew the kite that Cookie and Nanna gave us (maybe I'll tell you about this one day........... haha).
Today Sarah came to visit and we went shopping and had lunch out. You really enjoyed being out of the house and you were so good for Sarah as she looked after you for a few mins while I waited in lines at Big W.

The only thing left to tell you is that you have 2 new teeth - both through on the bottom at the right.... at the BACK!! No wonder you've been a little off sorts over the last 2 weeks - it wasn't all the presents after all!! 2 Molars huh!! Fancy that! :o)

Well I must scoot to bed now that I have written you a novel of sorts. I love you lots, hope you sleep well tonight - we have more visitors coming tomorrow - Emma and Lee.
HUGS! xoxox
