A day for firsts...

Today starts another week with Dad away in Coona again... but we're going to go and visit him Tuesday afternoon and stay for a day or two - depending on what we can get up to n stuff.

You've been up to a few new things today! I had just talked to Grandma and getting ready to go to her place for dinner and I lay you on your back with your brace on and went to the kitchen to get your dinner to take with us, and I heard you crying out... I wasn't sure why.... I came out to find you on your tummy reaching for your soccer ball!! You had managed to roll over with the brace on! I can't wait to actually see you do this!

Well... that that was the first 'first' for the day. At dinner time I made some vegemite sandwiches for you and I also cooked you 2 fish fingers. I sat you at the table in your high chair and you proceeded to chomp on one fish finger then pulled it to pieces, and ate it! (as you can see from the piccie!!) There wasnt much left of the bread or the 2 fish fingers!.... and you've also stopped throwing everything over the edge (for now anyhow...)

Lucky Gregory also got his first taste of lego - well Duplo to be exact! You decided that - in your fathers words....it 'tastes like chicken' !!! At one stage you were trying to put 3 pieces in your mouth at once. I was proud of you as you picked up the car first... lol... and then proceeded to show off that you knew that the wheels went around and around!

You're such a clever little boy!!

The last 'first' that you achieved today was waving goodbye to Grandma as we left. Grandad had you in his arms and Grandma stood infront of the fireplace waving and Grandad had you in the hallway door and you waved back!! You'll never cease to surprise me!

And as I was typing this... you rolled over in your brace twice!! I actually saw you do it.... well done!! Where there is a will there is a way huh! Dad said that "you're getting stronger and powerful n stuff and sick of being in one spot".
Anyhow... must go and get you ready for bed! Nite nite, lotsa hugs n stuff!!

Toothy pegs

Munch munch munch!
You've got 2 teeth really through now! And now you've got a top one too.
We spent some time outside with daddy today watching him wash the car and enjoying the sunshine. It was a little cold tho so we came inside after a little while.
Dad and I have also turned your carseat around.... we're looking forward to finding out your reaction to it soon - we're going to go for a drive when you wake up.
Well.... speaking of you waking... I best go and get you!! Love ya my boy!

Just for Aunty Val .... Here is Gregory in his Holden jumper in his Holden bean-bag chair!

Here is Gregory in his blue 'wondersuit' with cousin Chelsea in her pink 'wondersuit'. It looks like Chelsea is having a huge bear hug :o).... not sure how she feels about that tho!

If Chelsea can eat her hand, I can eat her hand too!!!

Food for ..... thought ....

Hey Gregory.
We've been out and about the last little while. Today we went to the Baby Health Care Clinic Place for some help. Yes..... you are such a fussy little critter. I still haven't managed for you to eat 'solids' baby food from a spoon without it flying across the room - its worse now as you've learnt to projectile spit the food with your tongue! eiw!! I've stressed enough about 'force feeding you' and as of tomorrow things will change.... hmm..
No more mummy brekky - you get to have 'solids' and you can eat it yourself. The theory is - if you are hungry you will eat..... argh! Its a bit stressful but we're hoping it will work. Mummy is going to sit down for brekky at the same time as you - you can have some toats or a bikkie or something .... thats all you get.... milk comes a little later - I won't let you starve but we'll get there. I have to remember that it will all work... *maybe*
So we'll see how you go.... I love ya lots and don't like seeing you not eating properly! :o) Maybe we'll leave the cup drinking for a little while!

Lots of hugs (coz we'll bof need em over the next week or so!)
Mummy

(P.S. regarding the topic - you know what 'thought' did...... check http://bloggingwithikkie.blogspot.com if you don't know the answer to that one!)

Cutting through.....

Hey Baby boy,
Well.. from now on my fingers stay away from your mouth! You cut your first tooth this evening. Dad and I got a torch and had a look! You seem to be coping with it quite well - although you haven't been settling really well over the last few nights - I'm not really complaining asyou are back to sleeping through most nights.
Well - I must scoot - we all had a late night last night - we all stayed up and watched the Socceroos beat Japan 3-1 in the World Cup.
Night night my darling, sleep well.
Love mum

Hey baby boy :o) It was Grandads birthday yesterday ... as you can see from the photos... Yes... you were eating some of his choccie birthday cake - and boy did you make a mess!!
I think you liked it tho - there wasn't much left!

So much has happened since I last wrote/typed to you.
You now have another baby cousin. Makayla Rose Seton. Congratulations to Aunty Megs and Uncle Michael! We went up to the hospital tonight. We've been up a couple of times but you finally got to meet her - she is so tiny! She was born on Sunday morning.

Your dad has been away for a long time... we talk to him online through the camera most nights. You've also started solids (again!).... if you had your way it wouldn't be so! Its a such a battle .... but I don't understand why you seem to get so excited about seeing the bowl and spoon, but when its near your face you scream and cry! Cheeky boy!

You've also decided that you are a barrel... I say that in the nicest most loving way - this is true as you seem to roll, roll, roll when you are on the floor without your brace! But let me tell you... the brace doesn't do much to stop you lately either!

You've now been sleeping nearly through the night again (thankfully!) and only sometimes waking for a little while. I do wish you would go to bed earlier tho... midnite is a bit late for me!! although I can't complain too much as you do let me sleep till 9:30/10:00... We're in the process of changing that,.... about 2 hours earlier would be FANTASTIC! (But I'm just happy for the sleep through at the moment!) I think it will be easier to change the routine little by little and when your daddy is home to help :o)

Speaking of sleep - I must get to bed and sleep while I can! I'm so tired! Love you lots n lots.

Hugs, hugs n more hugs!
Mummy
