Happy Birthday Mr 1 Year OLD!!

Hey Gregory,
So much has happened since the last bloggie. Its been a long 10 days or so! We didn't do a lot but we were so busy.... we had your party to prepare for!!
You got to spend some time with Aunty Lynda and Chelsea when I worked last week. Dad was also away for 4 days last week. You were so excited to see him when he got home on Friday night! Aunty Lynda and Chelsea were around here Friday afternoon and ended up staying around for dinner and A.Lynda helped me make your birthday cake - you spent that time with Daddy which you seemed to be very happy about.

Saturday was really busy as we tidied up the house, and got the final party decorations up before guests started arriving. It was a great night! You and Daddy (I helped heheehe) opened your pressies and you got some lovely clothes, a mini cookie monster, some pencils, Wiggles DVDs, Tonka truck, trolley and most of all you love your blocks!! You opened your blocks first and then you weren't really interested in anything else!! Good on Aunty Val!!!! You sat near Aunty Val and Kathryn at dinner time and loved munching a sausage - Daddy called you a silly sausage!! After dinner, everyone sang Happy Bday to you and Dadd and you got to eat your first birthday cake.../.... Not really sure how much you ate but you loved making a HUGE mess... But isn't that what birthdays are for? Nanna Cook thought so!! hehehe
After cleaning you up a little after the cake, we watched a slideshow of your first year that I had put together with a little help from Aunty Lynda. It brought back so many memories of how much you have done this year. WIGGLE TIME!! We put on your wiggle DVD that you already had and you showed everyone how you like to wiggle your bottom and dance. You certainly stole lots of hearts!! awww
It was a great night.

Sunday you spent the day playing with your new toys!! You love your remote control car from Nanna and Cookie!

On your birthday on Monday, we went shopping with Great Gran Aikins who wanted to buy your pressie. She also bought a card for you before we headed to see Nanna, Cookie, Uncle Andy and Uncle Michael at work. After this we headed home for a nap. When Daddy got home we got ready to go out for dinner. We went to the Hogs Breath with Uncle Andy, Uncle Grum, Aunty Lynda and Chelsea. You didn't like being in the highchair so you stood up for a while before thought it would be good to walk around the funiture to the other side of the empty table near us so you could wave at some other kids.On the way home we stopped to see Grandma and Grandad. Chelsea and you loved playing on the floor and dad took you on a mission to catch Tilly the cat - she didn't like that much and hid behind the lounge!!

Yesterday there was a party at Playgroup for you, Nicola and Brynach. There was even a jumping castle although you didn't like it to start you weren't too scared when I joined you. We didn't really jump tho hahaha.

Well thats the week in review. Happy birthday my gorgeous boy!! You've grown up so much and look so much like a little boy and not a baby anymore!!I love you lots and lots. Big hugs and smoooches!! (yeh eiw!!)Mummy

1 week till you are 1! Busy busy!

Hey darling,
It has been a busy week and you've been up to a lot of interesting stuff!! (yup its been a week since we got back from bathurst already! argh!) You've only a week to go until your first birthday :o).
Last week we spent a lot of the week in recovery (both you and I!) You came down with a fever on Tuesday morning and it stayed with you until late Thursday. You seemed to sleep a fair bit which helped me out as I wasn't really well either. We didn't go to the pool with Playgroup as neither of us were up to it. By Tuesday night you spent a little time with Grandma and Grandad and they even took you outside in just your nappy to try and bring your temp down a little. I think it helped a bit :o)
Wednesday we spent most of the day resting at home together. You slept through most of it - when you weren't having a bottle or hugging mummy you were asleep!. You also woke during the night a little too which you haven't done in ages!

On Friday afternoon Aunty Lynda called and asked if you and I would like to go to the pool. You were sleeping when they arrived so to your amazement Chelsea was here when you got up. You got so excited, your moved your arms and legs and grinned and pointed! I put you on the floor while I got your bottle for you and guys were so happy to see each other. You hadn't seen her all week! Anyhow Lynda suggested taking you to the pool for the first time ever - So thats what we did :o) . We bought you some 'little swimmer' nappies and headed to the pool.
You didn't seem to like it much - although some of the photos show a different story! ah well....
At least now you've been to the pool - we'll try and go again soon - although its a cool snap again!! Can't pick the weather at the moment.

After the pool, we head to see Aunty Pammie, you enjoed being there as you played with Kibble (Pammies Jack Russell). She was so gentle with you and giggled as she licked your toes!! You even let her near your ear! lol

On the weekend we went to visit your Great Poppa and Gran. Uncle Grum and Chelsea were there for lunch and we ended up staying too!! At the end of lunch, Great Gran let their doggie (a beagleX) Trixie in .... you thought it was wonderful as she sat up and watched as she waited for some food. You kept looking over the highchair to her.... even when she wandered in and out of the room!
Later when you were out of the high chair you decided to go exploring - you took off crawling down the hallway and I had trouble keeping up!! Cheeky!!

Sunday afternoon we went to the park with Dad to help/watch him fly the kite. You weren't too upset by it this time *phew*.

Today you spent some time with Grandma as I had some appointments to go to. I got to the shop to pick you up and you were all smiles. Its good knowing that you'll be happy even when I'm not around - although I do miss you!! Yeh :o)
Tonight you had some fun playing with Daddy and the duckies - I'll post some of the piccies up a little later.
You've gone to bed so I probably should too - we've lots to do this week -(your big first birthday party!!!) and Daddy might end up away (lets hope not!).
Lots of hugs my special little boy!

Bathurst 1000 2006

Hey Baby boy,We had a big weekend - it started on Thursday when we left for Bathurst on a road trip with Aunty Lynda, Uncle Grum and Chelsea. We left Dubbo around lunchtime - we stopped at Maccas in Orange for a 'pit-stop' and driver change *heheh* and you grabbed the chance to grab the wheel of U.Grums car.
We got to our cabins just before the sun set and you had some fun in your jolly jumper while we set up and waited for Dad and Uncle Andy to arrive.

Friday morning and the boys (the boys being Uncle Grum, Uncle Andy and Daaaaaaaaddy) left for the mountain fairly early... we were all really tired as you didn't think anyone needed sleep (thank you! NOT).Aunty Lynda, Chelsea you and I headed into Bathurst and got to the track around 10:30ish. Some nice people helped us carry the prams over the 'supercheap bridge'. Lucky that they did because while Aunty Lynda went to see Uncle Grum we lined up to meet some of the drivers. After a while standing out in the sun, the drivers arrived. You saw Craig Lowndes sitting down waiting for people to sign auotgraphs for and waved at him - he waved back to you and you went all coy!! So I knew who you were going to get your photo with!!We finally got to Lowndesy and we asked if you could have your photo with him and he was more than happy - actually mentioned that he'd been waiting to see you since you waved at him!! lol - he did say that you need a new shirt next year ;o) (Nah... we'll meet Murph next year)
We stayed at the pits for a little while longer - had a look around before heading back over the bridge where we caught up with Uncle Andy. He helped us go 'shopping' and get some souvineers before signing the Brockie Tribute Commodore - there wasn't much room left at all!
We got back to the cabins and our Sydney friends had all arrived. We waited for the boys to get back from the track before having a BBQ dinner and getting to bed a little earlier.

Saturday morning the boys still had an early morning and you decided to let them leave without making too much fuss :P Thank you!! You also let your mum sleep-in a little. Aunty Lynda and I decided to take you two munchkins into Oberon for lunch. The other two gals decided to join us. We had a lovely lunch before you got a little tired and we headed back to the cabins where you had a lovely sleep. I went for a walk with Maree and you were still sleeping when we got back so I had a nap too! Thankies!!
We had some more visitors join us for a big BBQ and our boys finally got back from the track. We had a feast - although you just wanted a bottle - it seems as though you wanted a bundy can more and tipped it all over the coffee table!! argh!! its all good :P

You slept well on Saturday night and when the boys got up before sunrise to be at the track on time for marshalling you didn't even stir. We got up around 6:30ish and Chelsea woke then too. Ah well... When you two munchkins finally went back to bed we were able to start packing the trailer to head home soon after lunch. We left the cabins about 3:00 and heard the results of the race as we were leaving Orange - Lowndes had won - yes!!! Poor Murph hadn't gone too well and his partner had crashed out earlier :o(.
After tag-team crying all the way from Molong we got home where Grandma and Grandad helped me to unpack the trailer before the boys arrived home about 9:00ish. You were not up long and had a wonderful sleep - you were so tired.
Hoping to make a trip with you again soon - spend more time with Daddy!!!
Anyhow - here starts a new and exciting week - I wonder what it holds for us all - we'll all soon see!!
*hugs for you!*

Hey Aunty Val,... whats this?!

You've been such a good boy lately :DThis morning I got to have a sleep-in as I haven't been feeling really well lately. You spent the morning with your Daddy :o) He took you to fly a kite at the park but apparently as soon as it was in the air you cried!! You are sposed to get upset when it comes down! You goose ;o)Uncle Grum and Chelsea arrived here before lunch and you got to play with Chelsea for a while - the big boys were doing oil-changes on the cars. Uncle Andy also turned up - you giggled at him when he walked in!! hehehe
You also loved eating your cheese at lunchtime :o) Wonder where you get that from eh?This afternoon as Chelsea and Uncle Grum went home you went to bed for a sleep - you had quite a long nap - I think you are having teeth-ing issues once more as you woke up with a temperature and ROSY red cheeks. Soon after you woke up Paul Tress came around to watch the NRL grand final with us. It was quite good to catch up with Paul as he hasn't seen you since before you were crawling and before that!!

We had pizza and the Pauls (Dad & Tress) had beer to go with it :o) You enjoyed eating your pizza crust! After the footy was over and the Broncos won (oh joy oh bliss......) we watched some wiggles and you went crazy dancing and stuff. Tress couldn't help but get some adorable photos of you, and with your dad. I mean I can't blame him.

You also managed to find a special box which had a Donald Duck and a Mickey Mouse toy in it - as Aunty Val can see from the piccie you LOVED Donald (he tastes like chicken Aunty VAAAAAAL!) heheheWell you're temperature is finally down a little and you're in bed asleep which means it's time for sleep for meeeeeeeeeee. Love you lots.

Not sure what we'll do tomorrow but I'm sure we'll have some fun sometime - especially seeing as Daddy is home again! (gotta love LONG weekends!!)
:o)
Love you lots my darling Greggles.
